DC Office of Human Rights
Plans of the offices, for the attorneys of the DC Department of Human Rights, include a secure lobby, a meeting room, and intake rooms for processing cases. Cool colors and wood finishes characterize the public side of the agency, with glass intake rooms to let in daylight and facilitate transparency. The office space is planned around a central, open intern bullpen and a dining facility. Perimeter offices include the director’s suite and case filing room with high density storage. Sustainble features include low-VOC paints + sealers, energy-efficient LED lighting, and floor finishes with a high recycled content.
The team developed a plan for phased construction to minimize downtime for the agency, using a minimum amount of swing space.
