Jordan Outdoor Classrooms
This workshop was presented to as a catalyst for the development of Outdoor Classrooms in Jordan through a partnership with the US Forest Service and Jordan Green Building Council with funding from USAID. The team prepared a presentation of sustainable landscape and outdoor classroom concepts aimed at raising awareness for conservation education. The workshop itself took place over two days, beginning with orientation and an exercise in site analysis at a primary school in Amman.
Workshop groups were guided through the process of sustainable site and outdoor classroom design in conjunction with a school’s educational programs. Each group then presented the design in its own words and prompted discussion. The resulting report documents the process and findings along with recommendations for building capacity and developing further initiatives in Jordan.
